Manchester Gay Guide 2026: Canal Street & Pride Top Spots
Canal Street's Gay Village was made famous by BBC's Queer as Folk. Manchester Pride draws 100,000+ and is one of the UK's best festivals. Friendlier and cheaper than London's Soho.
Manchester is home to one of Europe's most famous gay neighbourhoods — Canal Street and the Gay Village. Made globally famous by BBC's Queer as Folk (1999), this LGBTQ+ district remains one of the UK's most vibrant gay scenes. Manchester Pride in August brings 100,000+ to the city. Friendlier, cheaper, and arguably warmer than London's Soho.
