Plötzensee FKK

Plötzensee is Berlin's most centrally located proper FKK lake, sitting in the Wedding district just north of Mitte. The lake is small but lovely — a compact sandy beach, calm and swimmable water, and a surrounding park that gives it a genuinely secluded feel despite being moments from the U-Bahn.

The FKK tradition at Plötzensee is well-established. The gay community has been using the designated naturist section for decades, and the atmosphere is typically Berlin: relaxed, unpretentious, body-positive, and welcoming to all. The lake is smaller than Müggelsee or Wannsee, which means it gets busier on hot summer days — but it also means the FKK community is concentrated and the social atmosphere is particularly warm.

For Japanese visitors staying in Mitte or Prenzlauer Berg, Plötzensee is the most logical FKK day trip. It's close, it's affordable, and it gives an authentic taste of Berlin's naturist culture without requiring a half-day transit journey to the outer suburbs. Combine with an evening in Wedding's increasingly vibrant alternative scene.
